In 1981 Pastor Galen, along with his wife Kay, moved from Wichita Falls, Texas, where he was a College Pastor, to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to become the Youth Pastor of First Family Church. Thirteen years later, after building one of the largest youth ministries in the southwest, he became the Senior Pastor of the then 300-member church. Since accepting the pastorate, Pastor Galen has been instrumental in making First Family one of the largest churches in the New Mexico District of the Assemblies of God.

Pastor Galen is well known for his ability to convey the Word of God with practicality and understanding. His way of making the Bible applicable to everyday life is a trademark that will follow him forever. He believes that everything that is done should be done in excellence and to the best of one’s ability.

He is a graduate of Southwestern Assemblies of God University with a degree in Christian Ministry. He currently serves on the SAGU Alumni Advisory Committee as well as the New Mexico District Committee for Ministerial Credentials.

Pastor Galen lives in Albuquerque with his wife Kay and their three sons: Dustin, Jonathan, and Brandon.
