Purpose + Beliefs
Purpose:
First Family Church exists to spiritually equip you and to help you win your family and friends to Christ.
Core Beliefs:
The Bible is our all-sufficient guide for faith and living. This brief synopsis is intended simply as a basis of fellowship among us. The truths mentioned are held to be essential to Christian faith. No claim is made that they contain all Biblical truths, only that they cover our need for like-minded community.
Belief Statement:
We believe in God as the Creator, Jesus as the Savior, and the Holy Spirit as the Keeper.
One God:
There is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; this God created all, upholds all, and governs all.
God the Father:
We believe that God the Father created and sustains all that exists. His desire is for all people to be in relationship with Him as He originally intended.
Jesus Christ the Son:
We believe that Jesus came to us from a perfect place, entered our imperfect place, to make available to us freedom from the penalty of our wrongdoing. It is through Him and through Him only that our broken relationship with God the Father may be restored. Those who accept the freedom that He offers will live eternally with Him in a perfect place called heaven. Those who reject Him will live in eternal desolation separated from Him.
God the Holy Spirit:
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the caring Spirit of God the Father who exists to help us in our daily lives. He also is the agent by which we are held in God's grace from now through eternity. Furthermore, we are considered to be a spirit-filled church. This designation simply means that we believe the Holy Spirit offers Spiritual Gifts that give us abilities beyond our natural limitations through which we might minister to one another and to those around us more effectively.
The Condition of Man:
God created mankind in His own image, perfect in all respect. God gave the first humans, Adam and Eve, two commands. By breaking one of the commands God's relationship with mankind was broken and sin or wrongdoing entered the world. Through the death of God's Son, Jesus, a sacrifice was made to ultimately pay the penalty for our wrongdoing, making it possible for mankind's relationship with God to be restored. It is the responsibility of every person to accept the gift of freedom offered to us by God. Once an individual accepts this freedom, they are guaranteed a place in heaven for eternity. Should they reject the reality of their condition and live alone, apart from God, they will then spend eternity in the turmoil of their rejection of Him and will be separated from Him forever.
